Philip Pullman resigns as Oxford literary festival patron over lack of pay for authors
Get paid or go home. "The director of Oxford literary festival, Sally Dunsmore, said it was “very sad” Pullman had resigned and organisers were “grateful for the support he has given over the years, and for his many appearances at the festival." And they plan to continue not paying the writers because they can get away with it.
