Comics Day

Countdown 46
Mary Marvel now has Black Adam's power. And she seems to be enjoying it a little too much. Jimmy Olsen is searching for a clue. Jason Todd and Donna Troy meet up and get attacked by a minion of a Watcher. This minion was last seen in Supergirl tormenting her to test her anomaly status.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man 21
More fallout from the "Other" storyline. Flash Thompson has been kidnapped by Miss Arrow to be the host for her eggs, which will hatch and kill and eat him and then go after Peter. Plus, Robbie is fired from the Bugle.

Green Lantern Corps 13
Guy Gardner, wanted for the murder of a fellow Lantern, flees to the living planet and Green Lantern, Mogo. Mogo has been infected by a yellow fungus from the Sinestro Corps that mind controlls Lanterns who visit there. Guy is cleared, Mogo's infection is burned out by an asteroid strike.

Justice 12
Justice is completed. Very nostalgic. There were some very cool moments, but I'm not a huge fan of Alex Ross' photorealistic art. I prefer a slightly exaggerated and cartoony look. It's one reason I liked The Incredibles so much.

The New Avengers 31
the New Avengers fight a ridiculous number of ninjas. Elektra is killed, again for the twentieth time, I think. But this time it reveals someone, something else. the clues dropped about Jessica and the baby are creepy as well. After I saw the page, I could only think of one thing.

Yeahbuhwhat?

I think the Illuminati series, also by Bendis has been laying the groundwork for this for quite some time. The New Avewngers started with the story that SHIELD was rotten to the core and something needed to be done. We'll see what he does with this and where this spins out to.

Nova 3
Nova fights the Thunderbolts, argues with Tony Stark, talks to Robbie Baldwin, and learns you can never go home.

The Trials of Shazam! 7
I'm enjoying this, but it doesn't feel quite like it takes place in the mainstream DC universe. Seems closer to Vertigo.

World War Hulk 1
See Hulk. See Hulk Smash. Smash Hulk, Smash. Hulk stops by the moon to have a word with Black Bolt, leader of the Inhumans and member of the Marvel Illuminati. Next he appears over New York and broadcasts the message they sent to him when they exiled him. He is going to destroy Manhattan and wants to see Reed Richards, Tony Stark and Dr Strange or he'll do to everyone what he did to Black Bolt. Manhattan is evacuated, the New Avengers are there, and are given an offer of amnesty if they help. Tony Stark, in the bulkiest suit I've seen him in, is the first to confront the Hulk. It goes about as well as expected. Is it wrong that I'm enjoying Hulk smashing those who done him wrong so much?
