Countdown 42
the Trickster and the Piper are arrested for the murder of Bart Allen. Mary Marvel teams up with the reformed Riddler. Holly Robinson and Harleen Quinzel team up. Ryan Choi joins up with Donna Troy, Jason Todd and Bob the Monitor. Karate Kid gets rejected by Batman. Jimmy Olsen gets job advice from Lois Lane. Things are heating up, but slower than I would like. It seems like most of the pieces are where they need to be for the plot to show up. Mary Marvel is acting like she's drunk with power. At the very least, her judgment is impaired.

Deadpool GLI Summer Fun Spectacular
Deadpool, the merc with a mouth is a trigger happy cross between Spider-Man and Wolverine, with a tendency to break the fourth wall. The Great Lakes "N", where "N" is Avengers, Defenders, Champions, or Initiative is a super team that makes the Mystery Men look like the Justice League. Two great tastes that taste great together. This is very funny. The GLI is actually competent, although almost by accident. This is worth it just for Squirrel Girl alone. She is their powerhouse, having taken down Dr. Doom (in a story by Steve Ditko!), MODOK, Terrax and Thanos.

Green Lantern 21
Things are bad for the Green Lantern Corps, and not likely to get better. Tensions are high, as many Lanterns still remember when Hal Jordan was possessed by Parallax and destroyed the GLC and nearly the universe. The Guardians have decided to ignore a prophecy called "The Blackest Night", but Ganthet and Sayd have decided to ignore them and call on Hal to be a leader in the Corps. Hal is kidnapped to Qward and meets the new Parallax, Kyle Rayner, and has his root fear revealed.

Justice Society of America 7
Citizen Steel is revealed and fights neo-nazis. Superman visits with Starman in his hospital and they talk over sloppy joes and milk. More mention of the Legion of Three Earths and now XS. I think it will be a meeting of the Legions of New Earth, Earth 1 and Earth 2. The sense of family and history is what makes this book great.

The New Avengers 32
A conversation on the plane ride back from Japan with Skrullectra. The story is laid out: trust no one, anyone and everyone could be a Skrull. The weather goes weird and the plane crashes. Convenient. Spider Woman wants to take the body to Tony Stark, either to prove he's a Skrull or notify him of the invasion. The paranoia works because everyone has been acting in ways that could be suspicious for quite sometime.

New Warriors 2
As someone who thought the way the New Warriors were treated in Civil War was a raw deal, this is a nice surprise. The new New Warriors are an angry group doing the superhero thing unregistered. Their powers, for at least some, are mechanical. Former X-Man Jubilee appears.

Omega Flight 4
I'm a glutton for punishment. the only reason I'm still reading this is I like Beta Ray Bill. Otherwise, feh.

X-Factor 21
Madrox, Siryn and Monet come to an understanding about the night he slept with both (separately). Rahne and Rictor get it on, which is something I never expected from her. Layla seems to have issues with the new girl, Nicole.
