I had two big graphic novels of Dan Dare when I was a kid.
The Man From Nowhere
Rogue Planet
I loved the art, full of detail and lavishly colored for something done during the 50's.
I see that there are new hardcover versions. One of my softcovers is falling apart and I can't find the other one.
There are rumours going round that a certain "Pilot of The Future" may soon be making his return to mainstream comics ( I stress "mainstream" as, for several years now, Rod Barzilay and Don Harley have quietly been producing some lovely NEW Dan Dare stories in Spaceship Away).
I'll have to leave it to others to comment on that exciting possibility... but I am free to reveal that I am currently working on the design sheets for a series of all new 12 inch Dan Dare action figures, to be produced by Underground Toys Ltd.
The figure will be as faithful as possible to the original 1950's character, as created by Frank Hampson... and I have received some input by Mr. Barzilay himself, Britains foremost Dan Dare expert, to help get it as accurate as possible.
