Double Standard

More Obama gaffes that are being ignored by the media. [Link]

I wish someone out there had the time to do nothing but compile a database of:

1. Every instance of a liberal saying how stupid Dubya was over the last 7 years, which they said based on various gaffes, mispronunciations, and so on…

and

2. Every instance of the stupid shit Obama is saying on a daily basis, which none of these selfsame liberals are talking about at all, and are in fact marching ever onward in their “He’s so charismatic and smart!” parade.

The charts and graphs you could produce with this data would be beautiful works of art. And also RACIST!

He thinks he's already President (for eight to ten years of these 57 or 58 states) [Link]

Here’s another fine quote, this one about Obama’s address in Berlin to mulitudes:

“It is not going to be a political speech,” said a senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. “When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally.

“But he is not president of the United States,” a reporter reminded the adviser.

During his trip to Iraq, he gave what some in the media are calling fake interviews. [Link]

"FAKE INTERVIEWS?" The presence of interviewer Greg Packer was a tipoff!

Much more here:

Barack Obama’s campaign trip abroad was thought to be an effort to show him operating freely on the world stage. Instead, it has been a carefully managed exercise, designed to expose Obama to no contrary or potentially embarrassing viewpoints, and most of all, to shield him against the possibility that the media might capture a gaffe. . . . For all intents and purposes Obama was play-acting the role of a traveling statesman, eating meals and smiling but doing and saying nothing of consequence with what veteran network correspondent Mitchell described on “Hardball” as an unprecedented level of press restriction and manipulation.

And the poster for his campaign event in Berlin that is not a campaign event looks a little off to me. Is it advisable for his campaign to be evoking socialist realism in their iconography? [Link]

The German flyers bear Obama's campaign logo and say "Paid for by Obama for America."

I'm surprised at this lapse in judgment in an otherwise well-oiled and professional Obama campaign. The last time they printed up campaign paraphenalia in a foreign language, it didn't work out so hot for them.

So, this isn't just some sober, high-minded foreign policy speech, part of a foreign trip occurring under the auspices of his official Senate office. It is a campaign rally occuring on foreign soil.
There is already more than a whiff of cult of personality to this campaign.

A cult of personality or personality cult arises when a country's leader uses mass media to create a heroic public image through unquestioning flattery and praise. Cults of personality are often found in dictatorships but can be found in some democracies as well.

A cult of personality is similar to general hero worship except that it is created specifically for political leaders.
