Quantum of Solace

Kurt, Amanda and I went to see Quantum of Solace today. All of us really enjoyed it. I had seen a few negative reviews going in, mostly complaining about second half of the film and noting the fact that the film had three writers. This is generally a bad sign, but I didn't really notice it. There is a draggy section about two thirds of the way through and a plane chase that was a few minutes too long. I like the fact that this Bond is a little more introspective than previous movie Bonds. This is apparently closer to how Fleming wrote him. Bond and M's relationship and their trust of each other is becoming a linchpin to the films and I hope it continues to grow.

A few things I liked:

• Quantum is a great villain, a SPECTRE for the twenty first century and I hope they don't take them down completely for the next few films
• Miss Fields and her shout out to a classic Bond film
• The Opera scene
• The opening car chase and what is in the trunk

Also, before the film we saw the Star Trek trailer and it was awesome.
