Is Doctor Who's new Doctor Matt Smith even old enough to be a real doctor? Or would he still be in his residency somewhere? I don't know, but it hardly matters, since the 26-year-old began filming his new Who series in England this week. Clearly, they're trying to keep him from looking extra-young by outfitting him with a tweed jacket and bowtie, which I approve of and think works rather well. But his companion Anna Pond, played by Karen Gillan, looks 18 or so, and the whole thing seems reminiscent of a young teacher trying to have sex with his student, possibly in a classic police box.
