Every day, I drive through a roundabout, and every day I see people who have no freaking clue how to use them. They stop and wait for the entire circle to clear before trying to enter. It drives me nuts.
The Case for More Traffic Roundabouts

In my neighborhood, people run the circle, so to speak, when they want to turn left. They don't bother to drive around the circle, they cut directly to the street to the left of them. In the whole time that circle has been there (I don't remember how many years, but over five) I've heard of only one person who was ever ticketed for not using the circle properly. Others ignore it completely and barrel on through as if it weren't even there. Never mind that there's a car halfway around the circle trying to make a left turn onto their street the right way. The words "Yield to traffic inside circle" might as well be written in Swahili. People don't know or care what the circle is for or how to use it.. Ours is only a four-way circle, I only hope larger ones with several in and out roads get more respect. Also, talking of driving ignorance, I notice with glee that the overhead signs on I-95 are now admonishing drivers "headlights on, flashers OFF" when driving in the rain. I was beginning to think I'd hallucinated the part about flashers only being appropriate for stopped vehicles.
The one in your neighborhood is poorly designed and too small and facilities running it wrong.
