This Is How Your Hyperpartisan Political News Gets Made
You're being played. Liberals and Conservatives both. Outrage drives clicks. Clicks make money. You (and your outrage) are resources to be mined. I think this may be why Twitter has never been serious about cleaning itself up. It would be simple to keep opposing views from interacting or even seeing the other, but I believe outrage drives engagement. Some may get driven away, but those who remain are heavy users.
